Beloved Lovers of the Chaos⁠—

Here we are. The last book in the Legacy series. I cannot believe we’re here. But as always, before we dive in, I need to say this one final time. Why? Because some of you don’t believe me, you go in blind, and then you proceed to yell at me about something that was included in the Content Information. I wish I was joking, but my emails, DMs, and comment section don’t lie.

This is a DARK fantasy romance series. While there is probably some salvation along with the destruction coming, all the characters are still morally grey, and in true dark fashion, that’s never going to totally go away. There’s redemption. There’s heartache. There’s growth. There’s vengeance. But it’s still Devram.

Are you Team Theon? Team Luka? I’m going to need you to be Team Content Information, because again, I don’t like to be yelled at when I’ve provided the answer to that on a silver platter from the very beginning.

You can find all the tropes, tags, and triggers on my website ( www.melissakroehrich.com ). I put it there because I can easily update it if needed. Additionally, there is content information in the back of this book that is current as of July 2025. If any of those things are not for you, it’s okay! We give you this information so you can set your own boundaries and protect your mental health. I am begging you not to go in blind, and then message me in disappointment or anger when things happen that were outlined in the information that has always been available to you.

Now that we’ve covered that— For the final time, welcome back to Devram. Thank you for hanging in there and trusting the process. Thank you for cheering on these traumatized and emotionally stunted babies, even when you were beyond frustrated and furious with them. We’ve made it to the end. There will be emotional whiplash. There will be redemption. There will be long-awaited deaths.

There will be balance.

A quick reminder that I wish I could pin everywhere: The Legacy Series takes place in the same universe as the Lady of Darkness series, but this is an entirely new world with brand new characters. You do NOT need to read the Darkness series to understand The Legacy Series . This series can be read separately. This story has its own conclusion by the end. However, you WILL come across spoilers for the Darkness series and some dragon eggs along the way, even if you don’t recognize them as spoilers at the time. Some of our favs have found their way to Devram, and we get to see them from a different perspective. I promise I won’t reveal any of the big details from Darkness , but there will be minor spoilers. You might learn how things end up, but none of the twists and turns that got us to that point.

Grab the wine, turn on the playlist, and settle in. This is the longest book I’ve written to date. We have lots of pages to spend together. See you on the other side-
